The idea of establishing an award named after Zdzisław Szymański was conceived by the collaborators and students of Professor Zdzisław Szymański from the Institute of Theoretical Physics at the University of Warsaw to commemorate him and his achievements.

The purpose of the Prize is to recognize and promote outstanding theoretical or experimental work in nuclear structure and reactions.

The Prize is awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Physics of the Warsaw University, based on the recommendations of the Selection Committee of the Prize. The award is ten thousand Polish zlotys, and it will be granted to the Laureate as remuneration for the preparation of a lecture on the subject of his/her research.

The Prize is financed by contributions from individual persons and institutions who want to support the development of nuclear physics. You can become the founding member by making a gift right now.
