Zdzisław Szymański Prize for the year 2003 has been awarded to
Dr hab. Marek Pfützner
from University of Warsaw
for his discovery of the two-proton decay and research concerning isomerism in nuclei far from stability.
The Diploma of the Prize for the year 2003 has been awarded at a gala ceremony during the International Symposium Atomic nuclei at extreme values of temperature, spin and isospin, XXXIX Zakopane School of Physics, which was held in Zakopane, Poland, August 31 – September 5, 2004. Within a special session, the laureate gave an invited lecture concerning his scientific research.
Dr hab. Marek Pfützner received the Prize from the Dean of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw Prof. Jan Bartelski.
The award ceremony was honored by the presence of Prof. Zdzisław Szymański’s children – Anna and Paweł Szymański.
