Zdzisław Szymański Prize for the year 2021 has been awarded to
Dr Steven Ragnar Stroberg
from Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Notre Dame
for crucial developments to extend ab initio theory to the structure of large nuclei, and for his contributions to the solution of a long-standing puzzle regarding Gamow-Teller beta-decay rates.
The Diploma was awarded on September 9th during the XXXVII Mazurian Lakes Conference of Physics held in September 3–9, 2023 at Piaski, Poland.
Dr Steven Ragnar Stroberg received the Prize from the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw and the Chairman of the Mazurian Lakes Conference prof. Wojciech Satuła.
