We are pleased to inform that the Zdzisław Szymański Prize will be awarded in 2024. The purpose of the Prize is to recognize and promote outstanding theoretical or experimental work in nuclear structure and reactions. The Szymański Prize is bestowed by the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, and the Selection Committee has decided that the prize will be international.
The Dean of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw will award the Prize on the basis of the recommendation by the Selection Committee. The award is ten thousand Polish zlotys, and it will be granted to the Laureate as remuneration for the preparation of a lecture on the subject of his/her research.
The Laureate will present his/her lecture at the award ceremony. The date and location will be announced separately.
Nominations for the Prize have to be submitted by May 30, 2024. Please note that candidates must not yet have reached their 41 st birthday on December 31, 2024.
The application should include
- a scientific curriculum vitae,
- a list of publications with the number of citations, and
- at least one letter of reference supporting the nomination by detailing the significance of the candidate’s achievements.
As part of the nomination package, the nominee must give his/her written approval for his/her candidacy, including explicitly the following consent clause:
I hereby consent to have my data processed by the University of Warsaw with its registered office at ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28, 00-927 Warszawa, Poland, to carry out a selection process and conclude a contract to prepare the laureate lecture.
